My goal is to use hand tools for as much of my work as possible to create furniture built well enough to last a few generations, hopefully one day to teach handtool skills to anyone interested.

I was using this expensive red square to line up the track to trim some panels which came out wonky… thought I was going crazy until I double checked the square.
Made a couple more frames, almost did these with only hand tools except the cove profile, didn’t make sense not to use the router for that.

I try to source my stock locally when possible but I have yet to be disappointed with @shopf2h they are my go to for consistent 4/4 material. My UPS guy isn’t much of a fan but this was probably my 10th order from them and I haven’t gotte
QS White Oak raised pet food holder.
Found that when cutting dovetails in thicker stock assembly is much easier if you can make little relief cuts on the inside of the pins. Won’t be seen once assembled and can take some stress out of your glue-up process.
Seems like I have been fighting these two little slabs for a month now trying to get them to agree on what flat is, glad to get them out of the shop soon and out of my way so I can get to work on the writing desk.
